Last month, a constituent called my office desperate for help with her unemployment. She was a single mom who had unexpectedly been laid off from her job. She applied for her unemployment but it had been months with zero response or communication from EDD on the status of her payments. She was doing her best to make ends meet when a friend told her to contact my office for help.
Within the day, my office staff contacted EDD directly and not only gave her a status update but also a date as to when she should expect payment and helped move the process along to get this single mom paid and stay afloat. This is what I love about my job as your State Assemblyman.
